A Blooming Future
Fig. 25Winner of MKF's art installation competition: a gilded flower releasing five pearls, installed at the foundation's new headquarters.
AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, MKF, supports young Bahrainis through their school years. For the opening of its new headquarters in Riffa it ran a competition for an outdoor sculpture. This proposal won.
The flower is the foundation: the nurturing base. The five pearls rising from it are its five pillars, and their lifting away is the growth that starts from support and encouragement. The piece was fabricated in gilded petals and polished spheres on a stone base and installed at the entrance in 2025.
